Back up

Your recipes, plan and log live only on this device. A backup is a small file you keep somewhere safe.

The transfer code is the same backup as text. Paste it into a note, an email to yourself or a message.

Restore or move to another device

  1. On this device, save or send a backup, or copy the transfer code.
  2. Open Meadow on the other device.
  3. Come to Your data there and restore below.

Restoring replaces everything in Meadow on this device.

How to never lose your recipes

Add it to your home screen

iPhone: open in Safari, tap Share, then Add to Home Screen.
Android: open in Chrome, tap ⋮, then Add to Home screen or Install app.
On iPhone this matters: Safari can clear website data you haven't opened for 7 days. Home screen apps are kept.

Choose one main device

Your phone and computer don't sync. Plan and log on one device, and move a backup when you switch.

Back up once a month

Save a backup file or copy the transfer code now and then. Meadow reminds you after 30 days.

Avoid private browsing

Private and incognito windows forget everything when you close them.

Before you clear your browser

Clearing history or website data deletes your recipes and log. Make a backup first.

About
Meadow
Meal planner & nutrition tracker, made in Norway.

What it is

Meadow puts your week of meals, your grocery list and your daily calories and protein in one place. Plan once, and the shopping list and nutrition follow from it.

It's made for people who want a clear picture of what they eat without a subscription, ads or an account.

How it works

Save the meals you cook
Put them on your week
Shop from the list it makes
Tick off what you eat

Your privacy

There's no account and no tracking. What you plan and eat stays on your device. Nothing is sent to us or anyone else unless you choose to share or export it.

Who made it

Meadow is designed in Oslo, Norway by ScandinavianNO, a small studio making simple, useful tools for everyday life.

Nutrition values are estimates from the USDA National Nutrient Database (Release 28) and from what you enter yourself. Meadow is a planning tool and doesn't give medical or dietary advice.

Ingredients

Changes update your plan and grocery list. Meals you've already logged keep the numbers they had when you ate them.

Ingredients

    Method

Method written by ScandinavianNO. Safe cooking temperatures follow the USDA (FoodSafety.gov).

    Paste a recipe

Copy a recipe from a website, a note or a message, and paste it below. One ingredient per line works best. If the method comes after a line that says Method or Instructions, it's saved with the recipe.

Everything is read on this device. You'll check each line before anything is saved.

    Add your own food

Copy the numbers from the nutrition label. Meadow works out the rest.

    A starting point

A common formula (Mifflin–St Jeor) gives a rough estimate. Everyone is different, so treat it as a place to start, not advice.
